Doing anything for the first time can be a daunting task. At ISF Sign Specialists we would like to make the sign buying process as easy and stress free as possible. Our trained staff will be able to answer any questions that you may have about any part of the sign buying process! From design, permits,  and fabrication all the way through to the installation of your new sign, we are here for you!

This page of our site is devoted to YOU, the first time sign buyer. Listed below are the steps that we take in insuring you the best visually impactive sign that is within your budget and allowed by the city and building owner.

Our Simple Process

  1. The first step in the process of buying a sign is for us to first find out exactly what you need. One of our highly trained account executives will meet with you (either by phone or in person, whichever is more convenient for you) In our conversations we will try to get as much information about the look that you are trying to achieve and the purpose for your sign. We will take pictures and get detailed measurements of your storefront or area where the desired sign application will be installed.
  2. We then will begin the design process. Our talented graphic designers work hand in hand with our account executives to come up with a creative, professional design that best communicates the look and feel that you are hoping to achieve for your new business sign. We will provide you with a scaled drawing of your sign and a photo representation of how the final installed sign will appear.
  3. After you have approved the design that you would like to use for your new sign, we will need to receive a 50% down payment. We do accept Visa and Mastercard, although we have to charge an additional 2 1/2% to cover the cost that they charge us for using their service.
  4. Exterior signs will need to get a permit before installation. We will happily get your permits for you, or provide you with all information and drawings needed to pull the permits yourself. Unlike some sign companies out there, we do not try to make any money on obtaining sign permits. We charge you what is charged to us for the procurement of permits. If you are leasing a retail space we will need to get landlord authorization to install any signs on the premises. The landlord should be able to provide you with a legal description of the property and a letter of authorization.
  5. TIME TO MAKE SOME SIGNS. At this point, all of the paperwork and details have been worked out, now it is time to have some fun… Fabrication times are dependent on what the sign type is that you are having fabricated. Our account executive will give you a timeline of when the sign should be complete and ready for install and will keep you updated on the progress of your sign.
  6. At this step your sign is complete and ready to be installed. Please let our account executives know if we need to call before we arrive on site to install your sign. Our trained sign installation crew will install your sign in a timely manner and will clean up after themselves!
